This one was taken 9 June 2008. I took a trip early in the morning up to Lock and Dam Number 1 on the Cape Fear River to beat the heat. Temperature here today got up to 102 degrees. The dam is just north of East Arcadia, NC off Highway 87. The picture was taken from the picnic area. There is a camp site next to the gate that has a sign that says motorcycles are welcome. It is a long way from being a KOA type campground though.
